Town centre accommodation
Hotels, apartments, homes and other addresses in the urban centre have their own final approach, north of the main coastal strip.
Cubelles is approximately 40 km from Barcelona-El Prat by road. The journey is around 35–45 minutes, depending on the final address. A private transfer can take you from either airport terminal directly to central Cubelles, the seafront or an inland residential area, with prices starting from €75.
Cubelles covers more than its central streets and beaches. The municipality includes coastal areas such as Mota de Sant Pere and Les Salines as well as inland residential developments including Mas Trader, Santa Maria, Corral d’en Cona, La Solana and Molí Nou. When arranging an airport transfer, the complete destination address is therefore more useful than the town name alone.
Hotels, apartments, homes and other addresses in the urban centre have their own final approach, north of the main coastal strip.
These are distinct parts of the seafront. The exact street or property still matters when arranging the final drop-off.
An inland residential address requires a different final section from accommodation close to the beach or town centre.
Street and postcode information helps distinguish between the different parts of Cubelles and is particularly relevant for properties near the boundary with neighbouring municipalities.
The route from Barcelona-El Prat heads south towards the Garraf corridor rather than requiring a trip through Barcelona city centre. The C-32 is the principal motorway on this journey, while the C-31 is another major access route for Cubelles.
The Pau Casals motorway connects the El Prat area with Castelldefels, Sitges, Vilanova i la Geltrú and Cubelles.
After the motorway section, the remaining distance depends on the exact part of the municipality where the passenger is staying.
Cunit and Calafell are immediately south of Cubelles, making the actual municipality particularly important for accommodation close to the boundary.
The approximate distance is 40 km. The shortest favourable journey can be around 35 minutes, while the indicative range for the road transfer is 35–45 minutes.
Barcelona-El Prat has two passenger terminals, T1 and T2. The flight number supplied with the booking identifies the arrival terminal and helps organise the corresponding pickup before the journey towards Cubelles.
The airport railway station is at T2. A passenger landing at T1 therefore needs to allow for the connection between the terminals before accessing the airport rail service.
Cubelles has its own railway station and a direct R2 Sud connection with Barcelona-Sants. That makes rail a genuine option for some travellers. The difference is that the airport railway service and the Cubelles service belong to different R2 lines, so the airport journey requires a connection.
| Travel detail | Private transfer | Train |
|---|---|---|
| Indicative duration | ≈ 35–45 min | ≈ 1 h–1 h 20 min depending on the connection |
| Airport departure | Pickup at T1 or T2 | R2 Nord from T2, followed by a connection |
| Arrival point | Your booked address | Cubelles railway station |
| Beach accommodation | Direct drop-off at Mota de Sant Pere or Les Salines | Station relatively close to the coast, although a final section may remain |
| Luggage | Travels in the reserved vehicle | Passengers manage luggage during connections |
The R2 Sud serves Cubelles and also connects it with Vilanova i la Geltrú, Sitges, Cunit and Calafell.
The airport railway station at T2 uses the R2 Nord. There is no single direct T1/T2 train service running all the way to Cubelles.
For a solo traveller or couple staying near Cubelles station with light luggage, the train can be a suitable alternative. A private transfer avoids the rail connections and can continue directly to the booked address, which is particularly relevant for groups, bulky luggage and accommodation away from the station.
The coastline has several named destinations rather than one single beach. Cubelles includes Platja Llarga, Mota de Sant Pere, Les Salines and Les Gavines, while residential areas extend inland beyond the coastal strip.
The beach is large enough for the exact access point to matter. The town council documents adapted access, walkways, lifeguard services and free parking in the area.
Its approximately 1.8 km length means that an accommodation address gives more useful information than simply entering the beach name.
Les Salines should be treated as its own destination rather than as an interchangeable point with central Cubelles.
Platja Llarga is one of the municipality’s identified beaches and should be distinguished from other coastal drop-off points.
In 2026, both Platja Llarga and Mota de Sant Pere have Blue Flag status.
For a transfer to Cubelles, the distance alone does not determine the appropriate vehicle. Luggage can make a significant difference, particularly for family beach holidays. Pushchairs, several suitcases, cool boxes and children's equipment can add considerably to the amount of space required.
A standard category may be enough when the number of passengers and bags fits within the selected vehicle capacity.
A pushchair, several suitcases and beach equipment may make a larger category more practical.
For groups travelling to the same accommodation or event, a minibus or bus can keep passengers and luggage together throughout the journey.
The return transfer follows the road corridor back towards Barcelona-El Prat, but the starting point still depends on the property. A pickup in Mas Trader, Mota de Sant Pere or Les Salines begins with a different local road section before joining the C-32 towards the airport.
The distinction between central Cubelles, the seafront and inland residential areas remains relevant on the return journey.
The 35–45 minute road journey does not include the time required for check-in, security or boarding.
Once the transfer time from your Cubelles address has been established, allow the additional time required at Barcelona-El Prat before your flight.
The road south from Barcelona-El Prat serves a sequence of destinations across Baix Llobregat, Garraf, Baix Penedès, Alt Penedès and the Costa Daurada. A nearby town is not necessarily the same booking destination.
A coastal destination much closer to Barcelona Airport, before the route crosses the Garraf area.
A coastal destination between Castelldefels and the southern part of Garraf.
A larger urban and port destination north of Cubelles.
The neighbouring municipality immediately south of Cubelles and already within Baix Penedès.
A further coastal destination with a substantial beach and second-home area.
The main inland centre of Baix Penedès, away from the immediate Cubelles coastline.
A coastal destination associated with El Vendrell within the Baix Penedès tourist corridor.
An inland Penedès destination rather than a continuation along the coast.

Private transfers from Barcelona-El Prat Airport to Cubelles start from €75.
The road distance is approximately 40 km and the indicative journey time is 35–45 minutes.
Yes. The transfer provides pickup at T1 or T2. Supplying the flight number helps identify the correct arrival terminal.
The transfer can finish at the booked address. This can be in central Cubelles, a coastal area such as Mota de Sant Pere or Les Salines, or an inland residential area.
The town council states that the station is less than one kilometre from both the town centre and the beaches. The exact final distance depends on the accommodation.
Yes, but not on one direct airport-to-Cubelles service. The airport station at T2 uses the R2 Nord, while Cubelles is served by the R2 Sud, so a connection within the rail network is required.
Use the complete accommodation address. Mas Trader is an inland residential area and has a different final approach from central Cubelles or the coast.
Cunit is a separate municipality immediately south of Cubelles and belongs to Baix Penedès. Use the actual destination when booking so the correct route, access and fare can be applied.
Vehicle requirements depend on the number of passengers and the actual luggage load. Pushchairs, several suitcases, cool boxes and beach equipment may make a larger vehicle category more practical.
Central Cubelles, the coastal strip and inland developments do not share the same final access. Mota de Sant Pere, Les Salines and Mas Trader are different destinations within the municipality, while Cunit is already a separate municipality to the south. Enter the complete address when arranging your transfer from Barcelona-El Prat so the journey finishes at the place you actually need to reach.
