Only up to eight passenger seats. Under EU licensing rules, which apply in Spain, driving a vehicle with more than eight passenger seats requires a D1 or D bus licence, which most visitors and standard UK or US licence holders do not have. For ten people or more, hiring with a professional driver is the legal and practical route, and it also solves parking in the city centre, where large vehicles have few places to stop.
The driver holds the D licence, the professional competence certificate and the tachograph card.
The driver drops the group as close as regulations allow and returns at the agreed time.
After a dinner, match or wedding the whole group heads home together.
Choose by seats and by luggage volume. A group of 16 arriving at El Prat with a large case each will not fit a 16-seat minibus: it needs a midibus with more boot space or a coach with a hold.

Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) is about 15 km (9 miles) from the city centre, roughly 25 minutes via the Ronda Litoral or the C-31. It has two terminals, T1 and T2 (split into T2A, T2B and T2C), linked by a free 24-hour Aena shuttle bus. With the flight number we identify the terminal and track the landing.
The driver waits at the arrivals exit with a name sign and walks the group to where the airport allows large vehicles to park.
If the group lands on different flights, two or three minibus runs often work better than a coach waiting for everyone.
Allow two hours at El Prat for domestic or Schengen flights and three for non-Schengen destinations such as the UK or the US.
Travellers from outside the EU, including UK and US passport holders, are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) on arrival, which can lengthen queues at El Prat. We follow the actual landing and the driver waits, so the group does not need to rush.

Barcelona is the Mediterranean’s busiest cruise port, with terminals on the Moll Adossat and at the World Trade Center. From the port to the airport is about 17 km, some 22 minutes without traffic. Embarkation days often see several ships at once and port access gets congested by mid-morning, so we size the vehicle for luggage and build in a margin.

Barcelona has three major venues: Fira Gran Via in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, home of Mobile World Congress; Fira Montjuïc beside Plaça d’Espanya; and the CCIB at the Fòrum. For these events we run timed shuttles, multi-pick-up routes and delegation transfers from the airport.

During the biggest congress weeks, available coaches sell out before the hotels do. Book two to three months ahead and fix the shuttle timetable early.
For VIP delegations, pair the group coach with chauffeured cars for speakers and executives.
At big events, the value is in dropping the group near the entrance and collecting it afterwards at an agreed point while the transport network is overloaded. The most requested venues are the Olympic Stadium and Palau Sant Jordi on Montjuïc, the FC Barcelona stadium in Les Corts and the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló.
Roads around the venue close for a while after a match or concert. We agree a pick-up point a few minutes’ walk away, outside the closure zone, so the group can leave without waiting.
Many weddings take place in masias, the traditional Catalan farmhouses of the Maresme, Vallès or Penedès, 40 to 60 minutes from the centre. The usual plan is a coach to the ceremony and reception, then two return runs at night so guests get back to their hotels without driving.

Check with the venue whether its access road can take a 12-metre coach; if not, a midibus making more runs is the answer.
