In April 1935 the Palazzo Borromeo on Isola Bella, opposite Stresa, hosted the conference at which Italy, France and the United Kingdom signed the 'Stresa Front'. A Zonetransfers chauffeur is posted at the T1 or T2 arrivals doors and takes you straight to Stresa from €299 per vehicle.

Stresa is the closest lake resort to Malpensa: the car takes the A26 and leaves at Carpugnino or Baveno-Stresa to drop down to the lakefront.
