San Sebastián / Donostia
The coastal Basque capital, known for La Concha and its distinctive food culture.
Miranda de Ebro is a railway city at the meeting point of the Basque Country, La Rioja and Castile and León. Its rail connections make it a practical destination for travellers combining a flight into Bilbao with an onward train journey, as well as for business trips linked to the city's railway and industrial activity. This is a private chauffeur-driven transfer with a fixed price confirmed when you book and direct pickup at Bilbao Airport.
Since 2023, Bilbao Airport has had a single arrivals hall. All passengers leave through the same exit, located on the left-hand side of the terminal building, so there is no need to specify a terminal or move between airport buildings. Add your flight number to the booking and the driver will meet you at the agreed arrivals point with a welcome sign. A courtesy waiting margin is allowed after landing so you have time to complete the usual arrival procedures and collect your luggage.
Miranda de Ebro is more than a destination in its own right: its railway station links the Madrid–Irún and Castejón–Bilbao lines via Logroño. That makes the city particularly relevant for travellers whose journey continues by rail. If you are flying into Bilbao before catching a long-distance train towards Madrid, Zaragoza or La Rioja, the transfer can take you directly to Miranda de Ebro station instead of dropping you in the town centre, avoiding an additional urban connection.
The railway also shaped the city's development from the 19th century onwards. Miranda grew around its rail infrastructure, which became a major source of employment and remains central to its identity today. For a traveller, the practical advantage is straightforward: the drop-off point can be the railway station when that is where the next part of the journey begins.
The journey follows the AP-68 for most of the route towards Vitoria-Gasteiz and Logroño, leaving the motorway towards Miranda before entering La Rioja. The route uses a toll motorway, and there is a relevant change for anyone who is also planning to drive independently: from 11 November 2026, the La Rioja section becomes toll-free, while the cost of the Álava and Bizkaia section falls substantially, from around €19.60 to around €6.65 for passenger cars.
This change does not alter the price of the private transfer. The transfer is priced per vehicle and journey, with the agreed fare known when you book, regardless of whether the route includes a toll on the day of travel.

The most useful drop-off point depends on why you are travelling. If Miranda is a stop before an onward train, the railway station can be the most practical destination. For the historic centre and the riverside area around the Ebro, you can specify your accommodation or another central address. If you are travelling for work or continuing by road towards Burgos or Vitoria, accommodation around the N-1 outside the centre may be more convenient. Tell us the actual destination when booking so the driver can use the required drop-off point rather than relying only on the postal address.
If your journey involves a railway or industrial work team, a larger group or several stops, see our minibus and bus hire with driver in Bilbao. For journeys requiring the vehicle and driver for several hours or with multiple stops, you can also use our chauffeur-driven car hire in Bilbao.
Miranda de Ebro's importance extends beyond transport. Between 1937 and 1947, the city was home to one of the largest and longest-running concentration camps of Spain's post-war period. Republican prisoners and refugees from across Europe who were attempting to cross the border while fleeing the Second World War passed through the camp. Today, a municipal Interpretation Centre preserves and explains this part of Miranda's history.
For visitors travelling for study or research, this historical dimension can be as relevant as the city's railway heritage. It is a destination whose role as a transport junction has been accompanied by a complex historical legacy.
Yes. If your journey continues by train, state this when booking and the driver can take you directly to Miranda de Ebro railway station instead of the town centre. This avoids an additional urban connection and waiting time.
Yes. The transfer price is fixed per vehicle and journey, whether or not the route includes a toll on the day of travel. The AP-68 toll changes planned for November 2026 do not change the agreed transfer price.
Miranda de Ebro is in the province of Burgos, in Castile and León. It borders Álava in the Basque Country and is around 60 km from La Rioja, which explains why it is sometimes associated with neighbouring regions.
It is a private chauffeur-driven transfer using a VTC vehicle rather than a metered taxi. The price is fixed per vehicle and journey, is known when you book and does not incur additional charges on arrival. You can select the vehicle category according to the number of passengers and luggage.

Provide your flight number and passenger details so the appropriate vehicle can be selected and the fixed price confirmed before you book.
