Haro is home to several distinct wine areas, with the Barrio de la Estación being one of its best-known concentrations of wineries. If you are travelling for wine tourism, giving the winery or hotel name as your destination helps take you directly where you need to go.
A private transfer from Bilbao Airport to Haro starts at €202 per vehicle. The journey is approximately 101 km and takes 1 h 15–1 h 25 min, depending on traffic and the final destination. Pickup is arranged at BIO and the vehicle continues directly to your hotel, Haro town centre or the winery specified in the booking, so there is no need to travel first to the bus station.
Haro Turismo groups its wineries into four areas: Barrio de la Estación, Avenida Santo Domingo, the Ubieta area and the historic centre. If you have a winery visit booked, use the winery name as the final destination for your transfer.
This area includes, among others, CVNE, Gómez Cruzado, López de Heredia, Muga, Roda, La Rioja Alta and Bodegas Bilbaínas. It is a distinct destination within Haro rather than simply another reference to the town centre.
Not every Haro winery is in the Barrio de la Estación. When connecting a flight with a scheduled winery visit, providing the exact name of the winery helps avoid being taken first to the wrong part of town.
CVNE is located at Avenida Costa del Vino 21, in the Barrio de la Estación. Haro railway station is also in this area, at Barrio de la Estación 1.
If your first activity after arriving in the area is a winery visit, provide its address directly when booking your transfer from BIO.
Haro Turismo lists Bilbao Airport as a nearby airport and describes the connection via Bilbao’s bus station. Current journey planners also do not show a direct BIO → Haro bus: the journey involves Bilbao Intermodal and takes around 2 h 40 min.
Buses arrive at Plaza Castañares de Rioja 4, while the railway station is at Barrio de la Estación 1. If your actual destination is a winery, hotel or another address, an additional final journey is required.
The BIO → Haro transfer finishes at the address included in the booking. If your plans cover several wineries, lunch and a return to your hotel, the stops should be arranged as an itinerary rather than added to a point-to-point airport transfer.
From BIO, these destinations share parts of the journey inland, but each has its own final route and destination.
