Porto Heli was a fishing village until the 1970s, when Athenians began building holiday homes here. On the south shore of its bay, in calm water, you can see the sunken streets of ancient Halieis. Cars cannot circulate on Spetses without a resident or professional permit. Transfers end at Kosta, where the ferry (about 10 minutes), the Spetses Express (about 15) or a 24-hour water taxi crosses to the island.
