Porto has one terminal and one way out of baggage reclaim, and that is where your driver stands with your name. Zonetransfers takes you to your hotel in the city, from €35 per vehicle, or straight on to the Douro wine estates, the Camino Portugués or Galicia, at a price agreed before you fly and the same at 2 am as at noon.
The easiest way from Porto Airport to the city centre is a private transfer booked in advance. The drive is about 15 km and takes 20–30 minutes; your driver meets you in the arrivals hall and drops you at your accommodation or, in the pedestrian lanes of the Ribeira, at the closest point a car can reach. It costs from €35 per vehicle for up to four passengers, with suitcases included.
Francisco Sá Carneiro is a compact, single-terminal airport in Maia, north of the city. Three things are worth knowing before you land:

Cars are not allowed to wait at the kerb outside the Porto terminal. Instead of searching the road for your car, you meet your driver in the arrivals hall, right where you leave baggage reclaim.
Non-EU travellers go through passport control and, on a first entry, may have to register in the EU Entry/Exit System with a photo and fingerprints. In summer this can add half an hour or more. We count your free waiting time from landing, not from when you clear the border.
Arriving from Spain, France, Germany or another Schengen country, you walk straight to baggage reclaim and arrivals with no passport check.
Visitors to Porto are often surprised by extras added on arrival for late flights, weekends or each large bag. With Zonetransfers the price is per vehicle and fixed when you book, whatever time you land and however many bags you bring.

Porto climbs steeply from the Douro, and the oldest streets are cobbled, narrow and often closed to traffic. If you are staying in the Ribeira with heavy luggage, tell us the exact address: we plan the drop-off point that saves you the most steps.
Colourful riverside houses below the cathedral. Many lanes are pedestrian and steep; your driver stops at the nearest permitted point and shows you the way down.
The main hotel district around Avenida dos Aliados, with car access to most doors.
Port wine lodges and hotels facing the Ribeira across the Dom Luís I bridge.
Galleries, boutique hotels and guesthouses between the centre and the river.
Seafront districts at the mouth of the Douro, the closest part of Porto to the airport.
Business hotels on Avenida da Boavista; Campanhã is the station for trains to Lisbon.
The cruise terminal is in Matosinhos, at the port of Leixões, about 10 km from the airport. Give us the ship name and boarding window. If you fly in the day before, we drive you to your hotel first and back to the ship on sailing day.
Campanhã is the main station for Lisbon, Braga and the Douro line; São Bento, with its famous tiled hall, is right in the centre. Tell us your train time and we plan the drive with a safe margin.
Most English-language tours treat the Douro and the Camino as day trips from Porto. If you would rather stay there, you can go straight from arrivals to your quinta or your first stage, with backpacks, walking poles and wine purchases travelling free.
Gateway to the valley, the Douro Museum and river cruises.
Port-wine heartland, with famous quintas and a tiled station.
Vinho Verde estates and a stone bridge over the Tâmega.
One of the prettiest stages of the Portuguese Way.
Start in Portugal and cross the bridge into Spain on foot.
The classic 100 km start of the Camino Portugués.
The usual start of the last 100 km of the Camino Francés.
Journey's end, or your pick-up after the walk.
For six or more walkers, a minivan or minibus usually costs less per person than two cars. At the end of the Camino we can collect you in Santiago and take you back to Porto Airport for your flight.

Estela links near Póvoa de Varzim and the Oporto Golf Club in Espinho, founded by British port families, are both within 30 minutes. Espinho, Póvoa and Viana do Castelo are favourites for surf and kitesurf. Tell us your equipment and we assign a vehicle where it fits inside.
Not on the list? We also drive to Matosinhos, Leça da Palmeira, Maia, Santa Maria da Feira, Barcelos, Esposende, Caminha, Vila Real and Lamego. Enter the address for an instant price.
Pick the vehicle for your luggage, not only for the seats: four adults with four large cases and a golf bag travel better in a minivan. For 20 or more people we provide full-size coaches.
1–4 passengers. Couples and small families with regular suitcases.
1–3 passengers. Business travel and more rear legroom.
5–8 passengers. Pushchairs, golf bags, bikes and Camino backpacks.
1–7 passengers. Extra comfort for weddings and special trips.
9–19 passengers. Parish groups, Camino walkers and conferences.
We drive to every hotel, guesthouse and holiday rental in Porto and Gaia. If you have not booked yet, these six combine a good location with easy access by car:
Wine hotel among the port lodges, with an infinity pool facing the Ribeira.
Historic houses on Ribeira square by the Dom Luís I bridge; we stop at the nearest access.
1920s landmark turned luxury hotel on the main avenue, with car access to the door.
Design hotel with a garden and terrace over the Douro, between the Ribeira and Foz.
Baroque riverside palace a few minutes from Campanhã station.
Built on the site of an old theatre, with stage-set interiors in the Baixa.
Porto rewards walking, but the hills are steep. Keep a driver for the day you visit the Douro Valley or Braga and Guimarães, so nobody has to drive after a tasting.
