People and luggage
Number of passengers, large suitcases and any bulky items such as pushchairs, folding wheelchairs or sports kit.
Zonetransfers provides your group with a minibus or coach and a professional driver in A Coruña, by the hour, per trip or for several days. We collect from Alvedro airport, the cruise terminal, the station or any hotel in the city, and suggest the right vehicle for your group and its luggage.
Every group job is different, so we prepare a tailored quote rather than publishing generic rates. The figure depends on vehicle size, hours of service, distance and timing; with those details we send you a fixed price that does not change on the day.
| Factor | How it affects the price |
|---|---|
| Type of service | One-way transfer, return trip, hourly hire, half day or full day |
| Vehicle | 8–30 seat minibus or 35–55 seat coach, depending on people and luggage |
| Timing | Early-morning services and late-night returns are planned separately |
| Route | Distance beyond the A Coruña area, AP-9 tolls and parking |
| Duration | On multi-day tours, the driver’s meals and accommodation are included |
To prepare your proposal, these details are all we need:
Number of passengers, large suitcases and any bulky items such as pushchairs, folding wheelchairs or sports kit.
Time and address of each pick-up, any stops on the way and the expected return time.
Phone number of the person in charge of the group on the day.
For companies or associations, the legal name and tax ID for the invoice.
We reply within 12 hours with the recommended vehicle and a fixed price, via the enquiry form or on WhatsApp.
In Spain, as across the EU, driving a minibus with more than eight passenger seats requires a D1 or D bus licence, which most visitors do not hold. A self-drive van therefore tops out at nine people including the driver, and someone in the group has to stay sober, navigate unfamiliar roads and find parking for a large vehicle in a historic centre. With a professional driver the whole group travels together and nobody has to drive.
The driver holds the professional licence and the tachograph card.
The driver drops you at the door and waits or returns at the agreed time.
After a wedding or a dinner, nobody in the group has to drive back.
Choose by people and suitcases, not just by people: a group of 16 with airline luggage will not fit a 16-seat minibus with no hold. This is the guide capacity of the chauffeured fleet in A Coruña.
| Vehicle | Seats | Guide luggage | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Compact minibus | 8–9 | 6 large and 4 cabin bags | Large families, executive teams |
| Standard minibus (Mercedes Sprinter or similar) | 12–16 | 10 large and 6 cabin bags | Hen and stag parties, company visits, pilgrims |
| XL minibus | 19–30 | 14–20 large and 8 cabin bags | Sports clubs, cruise groups |
| Standard coach | 35–49 | 30–45 large in the hold | Weddings, school trips, conferences |
| High-capacity coach | 50–55 | 45–55 large in the hold | Event and trade fair shuttles |
Minibus with driver in A Coruña, the most booked option for groups of 12 to 19.
A coach with a luggage hold for up to 55 passengers, for weddings, conferences and day trips from A Coruña.
For 1 to 8 people a minivan works out cheaper: car and minivan with driver in A Coruña. Models and photos in our fleet.
These are the group trips most requested from the city. Distances and times are approximate from Plaza de María Pita, without stops; a coach takes slightly longer than a car at city entrances and AP-9 toll plazas.

| Santiago de Compostela | 73 km (45 mi) | 55 min | AP-9 | Cathedral, end of the Camino, SCQ airport |

For 1 to 8 passengers to these cities there are also private transfers from A Coruña.
A Coruña is a regular call for Atlantic cruises, and the terminal sits next to the city centre. A private minibus or coach lets a group of friends or a club organise its own shore day to Santiago de Compostela, the Costa da Morte or around the city, with a return time fixed to the ship’s all-aboard and a safety margin.
| Plan | Time needed | What you see |
|---|---|---|
| A Coruña highlights | 3–4 h | Tower of Hercules (UNESCO World Heritage), Old Town, María Pita square |
| Santiago de Compostela | 5–6 h | Cathedral, Obradoiro square and the historic centre |
| Betanzos and the Mariñas | 4 h | Medieval streets and the coast between the rias |
| Costa da Morte | 7–8 h | Fisterra lighthouse and the Muxía sanctuary |
Give us the ship’s all-aboard time, not the departure time. We plan the return with at least 45 minutes’ margin, as traffic into the port can slow down on busy cruise days.
A Coruña Airport (LCG), at Alvedro in Culleredo, is 8 km from the centre, 15–20 minutes away. Many international groups fly instead into Santiago de Compostela Airport (SCQ), about 60 km from A Coruña. With your flight number on the booking, the driver tracks the arrival and meets the group in the terminal; for minibuses and coaches, the pick-up point is agreed in advance, as large vehicles cannot always stop in the car lane.
Meet and greet with a name sign, flight tracking and luggage in the hold. For smaller groups: A Coruña Airport transfers.
Groups landing in Santiago and staying in A Coruña: Santiago Airport transfers.
Groups meeting at the station and travelling together to the hotel or venue.
Travellers from outside the EU, including UK passport holders, are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) on arrival in the Schengen area, which can lengthen queues. We track the flight and the driver waits; tell us if your group is arriving on several flights and we will suggest staggered pick-ups.
A wedding coach solves the trip home: nobody drives after the reception and everyone arrives at the ceremony together. The usual A Coruña plan is hotel to church to venue in the morning and two runs back at night, an early one and one at closing time.
| Run | Time | Route | Vehicle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Outbound | 12:00 | City-centre hotel → church | 55-seat coach |
| Transfer | 14:00 | Church → pazo or reception venue | Same coach |
| Early return | 21:30 | Venue → city-centre hotels | 19–30 seat minibus |
| Last return | 02:30 | Venue → hotels and agreed stops | 55-seat coach |
Check that the venue drive can take a 12-metre coach: many manor houses around Bergondo and Oleiros have narrow lanes, where a 30-seat minibus making more runs works better.
Include the late-night runs from the outset, so the price you receive already covers the whole day.
A Coruña hosts conferences at Palexco by the harbour, fairs at Expocoruña and concerts at the Coliseum, alongside the corporate activity around Arteixo. For companies we run timed shuttles, multi-stop routes and invoice in the company’s name.
A loop every 20 or 30 minutes in the morning and after the last session.
Staggered visitor arrivals and returns after the venue closes.
Delegations moving between airport, headquarters and hotel in one day.
Teams and supporters’ clubs with kit in the hold.
A full day by minibus or coach covers places that would otherwise take several connections. These are the group excursions most booked from the city.
Fisterra lighthouse, the Virxe da Barca sanctuary and Camariñas lace.
Vixía Herbeira cliffs and the Teixido sanctuary.
At Easter and in summer, access to the beach requires a free advance booking on the Xunta de Galicia website.
Cathedral, Obradoiro square and the UNESCO-listed old town.
The English Way, historically used by pilgrims arriving by sea from Britain and northern Europe, starts in either Ferrol or A Coruña. We take the group and its backpacks to the start, collect you in Santiago at the end, or move luggage between stages.
For the Camino Francés there is a route to Sarria: A Coruña – Sarria.
Three rules shape any long coach excursion and are worth knowing before you plan the route.
| Rule | What it means for the group |
|---|---|
| Driving hours (EU Regulation 561/2006) | The driver takes a 45-minute break after 4 h 30 at the wheel and drives no more than 9 hours a day (10 hours twice a week). Days with more than 13 hours of duty may need a second driver. |
| Seat belts | Compulsory on coaches and minibuses fitted with them, children included. |
| Minors without parents | On school or club trips the organiser carries the passenger list and permissions; the driver cannot act as a supervisor. |
If your plan goes beyond these limits, we build in scheduled breaks, a relief driver or an overnight stop, and confirm it with you before booking.
On these dates the city fills up and available coaches go first. If your event coincides, book at least a month ahead.
| When | What happens | Effect on transport |
|---|---|---|
| February | Entroido (Carnival) | Road closures in the centre and more night runs |
| May to October | Cruise season | Shore excursions with a fixed return to the ship |
| May to September | Wedding season | High demand for coaches at weekends |
| 23 June | San Juan | Bonfires on Riazor and Orzán beaches, streets closed all night |
| August | María Pita festivities | Concerts and events in the centre and the Old Town |
