Garda probably takes its name from the Lombard word 'warda' (guard), after the Rocca above the town, where Queen Adelaide of Burgundy was held prisoner in the 10th century. A Zonetransfers chauffeur is posted at the Malpensa exit from customs and drives you to Garda at a fixed price from €345.

The SR249 along the eastern shore is the only road through Lazise and Bardolino, and on summer weekends it slows to walking pace in places. We set the pick-up time with that margin for the return to Malpensa.
Lake Garda is a family favourite for summer weeks, often with bikes, pushchairs and plenty of luggage. A private vehicle from Malpensa crosses Lombardy on the A4 and drops you at the hotel or apartment door on the eastern shore.
Your car from Garda should collect you 4 h 30 min ahead of flights within the Schengen area and 5 h before flights to the UK, the US or other non-Schengen countries. Give us your departure terminal (T1, or T2 for easyJet) so we stop at the correct door.
