The Uretamendi tunnel is part of the approach
The Variante Sur crosses Mount Ureta through a twin-bore tunnel of approximately 600 metres before continuing towards San Lorenzo. This infrastructure forms part of the approach to Ermua rather than being a generic feature of the AP-8.

Ermua and Eibar form almost one continuous urban area for some journeys, but they remain separate destinations. Pensión Mélida, for example, is at Bizkaia Etorbidea 13 in central Ermua, while tourist information places Eibar around 3 km away.

There is currently no regular direct public transport connection between Bilbao Airport terminal and Ermua. The bus option combines BIO with Bilbao Intermodal and then continues to Kaltxango, taking approximately 1 hour 50 minutes. The rail alternative also requires a connection and takes close to two hours.
The public transport stop may still be some distance from your accommodation
If your destination is a home, hotel or business away from Kaltxango or the station, the final journey has to be added to the public transport itinerary.
