Town centre, hotel or station
If Durango is where the journey ends, include the specific address in the booking rather than using the municipality alone.
A transfer from BIO can take you directly to central Durango, the station, a hotel or a business address. If your journey continues to Mañaria, Otxandio or another municipality, Durango is not the final destination and the journey needs to be planned accordingly.
A private transfer from Bilbao Airport to Durango is available from €69 per vehicle, with a route reference of approximately 32–45 km and 25–40 minutes, depending on the route, traffic conditions and final destination. Your driver collects you at the BIO terminal and takes you directly to Durango station, the town centre, a hotel, a business address or the destination specified in your booking, with the exact price confirmed before the service takes place.
Current route planners calculate around 32 km by road, while Zonetransfers’ published commercial reference is 45 km.
Durango is an important connection point within Bizkaia. The provincial road network identifies the BI-623 through Iurreta, Durango, Izurtza, Mañaria, Abadiño and Otxandio. From Durango, the same road continues towards the mountain pass and Urkiola Natural Park.
If Durango is where the journey ends, include the specific address in the booking rather than using the municipality alone.
These destinations lie further along the corridor. If the passenger continues in the same vehicle, Durango should not be entered as the final destination.
The official access route from Bilbao reaches Durango via the A-8 or N-634 and then continues along the BI-623.
In June 2026, Durango Town Council opened consultations concerning changes to limited parking regulations and the ordinance governing access to pedestrian areas. These are separate processes, but both affect how mobility in the town centre is organised.
If your accommodation is on a pedestrian street or in an area with regulated access, the exact drop-off point should reflect the regulations in force on the date of the service.
Located in central Durango, the hotel has parking and convention rooms. It is a particularly useful destination reference for business trips, events or passengers travelling with luggage.
The hotel has meeting rooms as well as spaces prepared for weddings and events. Entering the hotel as the destination avoids relying on an approximate town-centre reference.
The bus option from BIO currently involves Bilbao Intermodal and takes around 1 h 35 min. The rail alternative also requires a connection and takes around 1 h 39 min. By car, the current favourable journey calculation is around 22 minutes to Durango before traffic and the final address are taken into account.
If your destination is a hotel, business or private address away from the public transport stop, another local journey is still required. With a private transfer, that final destination can form part of the booking from the outset.
The BIO → Durango transfer covers a journey to one specified address. Where the itinerary involves waiting time, several meetings, additional pick-ups or onward travel to another municipality, arranging the vehicle as an on-demand chauffeur service is a more appropriate option.
Durango acts as a decision point between several corridors. The route continues east towards Eibar, south towards Urkiola and Álava via the BI-623, while other journeys head deeper into the Duranguesado. The actual destination should therefore be specified when the transfer is booked.
This is reached before Durango when travelling from the Bilbao area and should be booked as its own destination.
The journey continues towards Gipuzkoa along the eastern corridor beyond the Durango area.
This destination requires continuing along another inland corridor and should not be booked as a Durango arrival.
This is a separate inter-provincial destination; from the Durango area, the Urkiola route continues towards Álava.
