BILBAO AIRPORT → BIARRITZ

Direct airport transport to Biarritz from €249 per vehicle

A private transfer from Bilbao Airport to Biarritz costs from €249 per vehicle and covers approximately 146–150 km by road. The estimated journey time is 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. Pickup takes place at the BIO terminal and the journey continues directly to the hotel or address specified for the booking, without changing vehicles when crossing from Spain into France. The price is confirmed before the service.

The main road corridor runs from AP-8 into France's A63

The journey heads towards Donostia and Irun along the AP-8 before continuing on the A63 in France towards the Biarritz area. This is the main road corridor connecting Bilbao with the French Basque coast.

ARRIVAL IN CENTRAL BIARRITZ

Your hotel address matters when access to the centre is restricted

Biarritz introduces traffic restrictions in parts of the town during periods of high visitor numbers. In summer 2026, pedestrianised areas affect sections of the seafront and central districts, including parts of Port-Vieux, Les Halles, Gambetta, Clémenceau, Sainte-Eugénie and Côte des Basques.

SUMMER 2026

Access restrictions can affect the final drop-off

During the seasonal traffic arrangements, vehicles cannot necessarily circulate freely through every pedestrianised street. The final drop-off therefore depends on the permitted access and the exact location of the accommodation.

FUTURE TRAVEL DATES

Check the regulations applicable to your journey date

Traffic arrangements and access restrictions are seasonal. For journeys after 2026, the municipal rules in force at the time of travel should be checked before arranging any special access point.

GRANDE PLAGE

Give the actual hotel address when staying near Grande Plage

Grande Plage is at the heart of Biarritz's seafront. The Hôtel du Palais is located at 1 avenue de l'Impératrice overlooking the bay, while Port-Vieux and Les Halles are further south within the central area.

Hôtel du Palais

If this is your accommodation, use it as the destination rather than simply selecting central Biarritz. A specific hotel or postal address provides the actual destination for the journey.

The final arrival point is arranged according to the hotel or exact address within Biarritz.
PORT-VIEUX · LES HALLES

Nearby hotels can still have different vehicle access conditions

Port-Vieux and Les Halles contain a concentration of accommodation within a compact urban area. For these addresses, arranging the transfer is not simply a matter of reaching Biarritz: the exact street and the seasonal access arrangements can determine where the vehicle can stop.

PORT-VIEUX

Alfred Hôtels Port Vieux

Located at 10 rue du Port Vieux, a short walk from the beach and Les Halles. The complete address should be used as the destination.

PORT-VIEUX

Hôtel Palmito

Located at 7 rue du Port Vieux. This is another accommodation whose actual destination is within the Port-Vieux area rather than at Grande Plage.

LES HALLES

Hôtel de Silhouette

Located at 30 rue Gambetta in the Quartier des Halles. Gambetta is among the areas affected by the summer 2026 traffic arrangements.

PORT-VIEUX & CÔTE DES BASQUES

Port-Vieux and Côte des Basques are close geographically but different for vehicle access

Port-Vieux forms part of the central urban area and has limited parking nearby. Côte des Basques lies south of the centre beneath the cliffs and is also within the coastal area affected by the 2026 high-season traffic arrangements.

The beach or district name does not replace the postal address

If your accommodation is advertised as being in “Port-Vieux”, “Grande Plage” or “Côte des Basques”, check the postal address as well. These names identify nearby areas rather than a single vehicle drop-off point.

BIARRITZ OR BIARRITZ AIRPORT BIQ

Make sure your destination is Biarritz town or Biarritz Pays Basque Airport

Biarritz Pays Basque Airport (BIQ) is within the Biarritz urban area, but it is not the same destination as Grande Plage, Port-Vieux or a hotel in the town centre. If Bilbao Airport is only the first airport in your itinerary and you need to continue to BIQ for another flight, the French airport should be entered explicitly as the destination.

AIRPORT-TO-AIRPORT CONNECTION

BIO → BIQ requires sufficient journey time

A road transfer between airports in two different countries should allow for the estimated driving time, traffic conditions and the necessary margin before the departure of the next flight.

For an international journey of around 150 km, the number of passengers and luggage should be considered before selecting the vehicle.
GROUPS & MULTI-STOP JOURNEYS

Choose a different service if Biarritz is only one stop on your itinerary

A BIO to Biarritz transfer is intended to finish at a specific address. If your plans continue through Bayonne, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, meetings, hotels or several locations along the coast during the same day, a vehicle at disposal may be more appropriate.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT ALTERNATIVES

Public transport may cost less, but the final stop may not be your hotel

Bus connections are available between the Bilbao area and Biarritz. Current references place several public-transport combinations at more than two hours, and some services terminate at Biarritz Airport before requiring another journey to reach the final address.

THE ATLANTIC BASQUE CORRIDOR FROM BIO

Donostia, Hondarribia, Irun and Biarritz follow the same corridor only up to a point

Journeys from Bilbao towards Gipuzkoa and Biarritz share much of the eastern corridor before their destinations diverge. Donostia is reached first; Hondarribia and Irun are close to the French border; Biarritz continues into France.

DONOSTIALDEA

San Sebastián / Donostia

The journey finishes in Donostia and does not continue towards Irun or across the border into France.

We booked a transfer from Lisbon Airport to Faro as we were staying in the Algarve for a few days. It was a long drive but the car was comfortable and the driver was friendly. We just sat back and enjoyed the trip instead of worrying about trains and changing buses.
