A coastal city next to Barcelona, known for its aniseed tradition and basketball.
Travel directly from Barcelona-El Prat Airport to Canet de Mar on the Maresme coast. The journey is around 60 km and normally takes approximately 45–50 minutes, depending on traffic and your exact destination. Private transfers start from €85 for 1–4 passengers and from €105 for 5–8 passengers.
Barcelona-El Prat Airport has two separate terminals, T1 and T2. Your booking includes the terminal information needed to arrange the collection point, so the driver can meet you at the correct part of the airport.
Canet de Mar lies north of Barcelona on the Maresme coast, beyond Arenys de Mar. The quickest route normally uses the C-32 Maresme motorway, which is a toll road. The alternative is the N-II, which follows the coast more closely but takes longer as it passes through the coastal towns. The driver selects the most suitable route for the time of travel, while the transfer price remains fixed per vehicle.
Canet de Mar has a distinctive connection with Catalan Modernisme and the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, whose work includes the Palau de la Música. In 1910 he remodelled the Castell de Santa Florentina, located outside the main town among pine trees. The castle later appeared as Horn Hill, the seat of House Tarly, in Game of Thrones. Today it is used for events, operates as a museum and hosts a classical music festival in summer. If the castle is your destination, particularly for a wedding, concert or visit, mention it when booking because it is some distance from the town centre.

Canet de Mar can experience particularly high demand during major events. Canet Rock brings thousands of people together for a single day, while the Castell de Santa Florentina hosts weddings, concerts and other events that can involve groups travelling from Barcelona Airport. The vehicle category can be matched to the size of your party, from a minivan for a family with luggage to a minibus or bus when a larger group wants to travel together.
For larger groups travelling to a wedding, festival or excursion, see minibus and bus hire with driver in Barcelona. To review the available vehicle categories, see the Zonetransfers fleet.
Canet de Mar is served by the R1 Rodalies railway line, which runs along the coast and connects with Barcelona. It can be practical when travelling light from the city, but the R1 does not serve Barcelona Airport directly. From El Prat, you first need to reach a Barcelona railway station and then change to the R1. A direct private transfer avoids that additional journey and interchange, particularly when travelling with luggage, as a group, at night, or when your destination is outside the town centre.
Yes. The castle is outside Canet de Mar, among pine trees and away from the main town centre. Give the castle as your destination when booking, especially for a wedding, concert or visit, so the driver can use the appropriate access point and allow for the journey from the airport.
Yes. For high-attendance days such as Canet Rock, advance booking is advisable. Groups can use a minivan or minibus, with airport collection and the return journey coordinated. Traffic is heavier on these dates and temporary access restrictions may apply around the event venue.
No. The R1 serves Canet de Mar and connects the town with Barcelona, but it does not run directly from Barcelona-El Prat Airport. Travellers arriving at the airport therefore need to reach a Barcelona station before changing to the R1.
No. This is a private transfer with a chauffeur-driven vehicle (VTC), rather than a metered taxi. The price is fixed per vehicle and journey, is known when you book and does not have additional charges on arrival. The vehicle category can be selected according to the number of passengers and luggage.
The reference price is for Canet de Mar. Arenys de Mar, Sant Pol, Calella and Mataró are separate destinations, with different routes and prices. Give the exact municipality and address when enquiring so the correct fare can be established.
