Slovenian A2 motorway to the capital. From Obrežje, the A2 motorway passes Novo Mesto before reaching Ljubljana's ring road, from where the journey continues to the district where your accommodation is located.
Travel documents
Croatia joined the Schengen Area in January 2023, so crossing into Slovenia is no longer a traditional border crossing with compulsory stops. However, an internal Schengen border is not the same as having no border at all. Slovenia has introduced temporary border controls with Croatia in recent years, so all passengers should travel with valid identification.
Arrival
Ljubljana is a compact city, but its historic centre is pedestrianised and some streets are reserved for public transport only. There is no direct public transport between Zagreb Airport and Ljubljana. Every public transport option begins with a journey into central Zagreb before continuing by coach or train, which increases the overall travel time, particularly if you are carrying luggage or arriving outside peak travel hours.
