From the Seville arrivals hall to El Rocío without changes: 1 h 10 min by private car with Zonetransfers, priced per vehicle. The fare starts at €115 for the whole car.
Seville Airport to El Rocío is about 90 km, around 1 hour 10 minutes on the A-49 and the A-483 through Almonte. A private transfer costs from €115 per vehicle for up to four passengers, to your hotel, rural house or brotherhood house in the village.
Zonetransfers charges by vehicle, so the fare is the same for one traveller or four.
Groups often arrive together at a brotherhood house or a shared lodge: a minivan carries up to eight, and for larger groups we quote a minibus.

Cars take one to four passengers; minivans five to eight; groups up to 55 travel by minibus or coach.
Seville has one terminal, so there is no doubt about where to go: the driver is in arrivals, past the baggage belts, with your name. Your free waiting hour runs from the real landing time, not the scheduled one.

| Area | Arrival |
|---|---|
| Around the shrine | The central square by the Ermita; depending on the sand, we stop at the most practical point. |
| Paseo de la Marisma | The promenade facing the wetland, with hotels and restaurants. |
| Brotherhood houses | Give the name of the hermandad and the street; many are near the shrine. |
| Edge of the village | Rural lodgings and villas towards La Rocina and the Acebrón road. |
At Pentecost the village receives hundreds of thousands of pilgrims and motor traffic is heavily restricted. Contact us before booking for those dates: the drop-off may be outside the village.
| Flight | Leave about |
|---|---|
| Spain or Schengen | 3 h 15 min before |
| Outside Schengen | 3 h 45 min before |
The pilgrimage changes how you reach the village. This is how we plan the transfer in the weeks around Pentecost:
Book early and give the house name
We agree a meeting point outside the village
No transfers into the centre that morning
Expect heavier traffic on the A-49 towards Seville
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Pentecost (May or June) | Romería: the biggest week of the year, with strict traffic control |
| Weekends before Pentecost | Brotherhoods travel to the village; more traffic on the A-483 |
| August 19 | Rocío Chico, a smaller local celebration |
| Autumn and winter | Quiet weeks, good for birdwatching in the marsh |
From the airport onto the SE-30 and west onto the A-49 towards Huelva.
Off at Bollullos Par del Condado and south on the A-483, past the wine villages and Almonte.
The tarmac ends at the edge of the marsh: most streets in El Rocío are sand, so the driver picks the firmest access to your door.
The white sanctuary of the Virgen del Rocío, focus of the pilgrimage.
Right in front of the village, with flamingos, spoonbills and horses grazing, depending on the season.
Footpaths and bird hides a few minutes from the village.
A hunting lodge-style palace set in the woods next to La Rocina.
Access is very limited at Pentecost. Ask us before you book and we will tell you how close the vehicle can get that week.
Yes. Give the hermandad and the street; if the sand makes the last metres difficult, the driver stops at the nearest firm point.

At least a day before; for Semana Santa, the Feria de Abril or summer weekends, several weeks ahead.
