Tianhe and Guangzhou East

Yuexiu

Beijing Road, Haizhu Square, Taojin and Huanshi East are all different destinations within the city centre. A location such as "Baiyun Hotel" can easily be misunderstood, as the hotel is located in Yuexiu rather than Baiyun District.

Pazhou and Haizhu

The central part of Haizhu and the Pazhou exhibition complex use different access routes. For the Canton Fair, your booking should include the relevant area, exhibition hall and entrance gate or authorised drop-off point, not simply the venue name.

Panyu and Guangzhou South

Guangzhou South Railway Station is located in Panyu, but it does not represent the entire district. Chimelong, Hanxi, Shiqiao and Panyu Square all require their own destination address and may significantly affect the final section of the journey.

Baiyun and Huadu

Baiyun District, Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport are three different locations. Guangzhou Airport is situated in Huadu, which is also home to Guangzhou North Railway Station.

Huangpu, Zengcheng and Nansha

The eastern and southern parts of the municipality lie well beyond the central districts. Guangzhou Xintang may be used as a reference point for Zengcheng, while journeys to Nansha require separate planning from routes to Tianhe or Yuexiu.

From the baggage reclaim to your cross-boundary vehicle

After landing at HKG, passengers using a road transfer must first enter Hong Kong, collect their luggage and clear customs before meeting their pre-booked service. The meeting point should never be assumed. Arrivals halls, cross-boundary transport counters and boarding bays may all be located in different areas of the airport.

Present your travel document at immigration, check the baggage reclaim screens, collect your luggage and proceed through the appropriate customs channel.

International arrivals currently exit into Arrivals Hall A or B in Terminal 1. If your booking includes a meet-and-greet service, your confirmation will specify the correct arrivals hall and how to identify your representative.
Cross-boundary transport centre

According to HKIA, SkyLimo counters 01–16 and boarding bays 27–34 are located within the Mainland/Macao Transport and Travel Services Centre on Level L3 of Terminal 2. Always follow the instructions issued for your specific booking.
Border crossing

Your vehicle will continue to the assigned border checkpoint. Hong Kong exit formalities and Mainland China entry procedures are completed there, and the authorities may require passengers to leave the vehicle or present their luggage for inspection.

After crossing the border, the journey continues to the confirmed district and destination address in Guangzhou. The driver requires a clear and accessible destination, not simply the name of the city.

There is no single, verifiable journey time between HKG and "Guangzhou". The total travel time includes leaving the airport, driving to the border checkpoint, completing both immigration procedures and continuing to the final destination. Border queues, the checkpoint in use, public holidays and the exact drop-off location can all affect each stage of the journey.

This crossing operates 24 hours a day, although weekends, public holidays and peak travel periods may result in longer waiting times.

Your drop-off should be planned using the correct area, exhibition hall, entrance gate and a local contact. Areas A and D

Xingangdong is the nearest metro station commonly used for these exhibition areas. However, it should not be used as a substitute for a confirmed vehicle drop-off point.

Areas B and C

Pazhou is the closest metro station for these halls. The road access point for vehicles may change depending on the traffic management measures in place during each exhibition session.

Vehicles without accreditation

Some exhibition sessions restrict vehicle access within parts of the exhibition complex. Drop-off directly outside a specific entrance gate cannot be guaranteed.

High-speed rail from West Kowloon

You must first travel from HKG to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, complete the station border procedures and choose Guangzhou East, Guangzhou South or another station that best matches your final destination.

Ferry connection

SkyPier ferry

Depending on the timetable, it may provide connections to Pazhou or Nansha, but it is only available to passengers who remain in transit, travel on the same day and have not cleared Hong Kong immigration.

Shared stop

Mainland China coach service

Coaches operate to fixed timetables and designated stops. A stop in Tianhe, Yuexiu or Panyu does not mean direct drop-off at every hotel within those districts.

Where is the pickup point at HKG for a transfer to Guangzhou?

Can I use the SkyPier ferry after collecting my luggage?

No. Once you have entered Hong Kong, the SkyPier ferry is no longer available. It is reserved for same-day transit passengers who remain within the restricted area and do not personally collect their luggage in the public arrivals hall. If you have already cleared Hong Kong immigration, you can no longer use this option.

Can I book a transfer to Guangzhou for a late-night arrival?

HKIA lists SkyLimo as a 24-hour service, but this does not guarantee that every destination or border crossing is available at all times. Late-night arrivals require confirmation of the operator, authorised vehicle and border crossing. Huanggang operates 24 hours a day, while Shenzhen Bay has limited opening hours. Pickup is always subject to the confirmed booking.

Will I remain inside the vehicle throughout the border controls?

This cannot be guaranteed. Procedures depend on the border crossing used, instructions issued by the authorities, the documents presented and the circumstances of the inspection. Passengers should be prepared to leave the vehicle, present their luggage or follow a pedestrian inspection route whenever required.
