Practical information

Cathedrals Beach: a free access permit is only required during Easter and from 1 July to 30 September. It can be requested at ascatedrais.xunta.gal up to 30 days in advance. For the rest of the year, access is unrestricted. These regulations may change from one year to the next, so we recommend checking the latest requirements before your visit.

  • The beach can only be explored on foot at low tide, so the timing of the stop is planned around the day's tide timetable.
  • Comfortable closed-toe footwear is recommended, as there are stairways, rocky sections and wet sand.
  • Cudillero and Luarca have steep streets and steps, so not all areas are fully accessible for visitors with reduced mobility.
  • We recommend bringing a warm layer and a windproof jacket, even in summer, as the coastline can be exposed to strong winds.
